New York State of Mind

I may or may not have gone to New York a couple weeks ago. Since then, I have not been able to get it off my mind. I fell in love with that city and I cried as we drove away. Now, all my life plans are centered around the fact that someday, I WILL live in New York.
I only spent a day and a half there,  which is not close to enough time. I mean, a whole day could easily be spent on Central Park. However, I did get to see so many amazing and fascinating things!
Our first night was spent atop the 69th story of the Rockefeller Center. It was there that I first fell in love with New York. The view is spectacular, which is a complete understatement.
The second day was full of all sorts of adventures. We started our mornig off with a stroll across the Brooklyn bridge. When we found ourselves in Brooklyn we went on a scavenger hunt for a red kiosk where we bought half off Broadway tickets. We then took the subway to the Staten Island ferry, which is free and you get the fantastic view of the Statue of Liberty, without paying the 30 dollar fee to go onto Ellis Island. In my opinion, it's the way to go. It's was perfect. After the ferry ride, we went on a search for the LDS Manhattan temple. Which we couldn't find until we looked up. It was incredible. We then ventured into Central Park, and got so lost it wasn't even funny, but really it was. While in Central Park, it's so easy to forget where you are. It's beautiful, and ridiculously large, it's fine. The Shake Shack is what we chose for dinner and it is quite possibly my favorite place to eat. Too bad I have to go all the way to the other side of  country to eat there. I definitely recommend it if you ever find yourself in New York. Time Square was next! That place is amazing and crazy and I just love it. We got hit on by Russian Spider-Man, who tried so hard to give my sister his number, it was a little creepy. Then we hit up H&M because why the heck not. I'm pretty sure grandma though we were skanks for shopping there, and she even admitted later that she hated that store and she would have rather waited outside. We then found ourselves waiting in line to be seated for Phantom of the Opera on Broadway. We got orchestra seats and it was amazing. We ended our night with a stroll through Queens because we like to live life on the edge. It was possibly one of the most thrilling things I've ever done, that and driving in Time Square at 5:00 at night, or at anytime of the day, are on top of my list of thrilling things to do. The next mornig we headed  back to Washington D.C and I cried my eyes out for a good half an hour because I never ever wanted to leave. I sure love that place. It's amazing.
         This is the Rockefeller Center.
The view from the top of the Rock. The big green patch is Central Park. Like I said, it's huge.

           Manhattan from the bridge.

The Shake Shack, my favorite place on earth.

Time Square at about midnight. This city never sleeps.
The subway is real and cheep and fun and I just love it!
